We just signed on the dotted line to build our Verona, and we're super excited to start the building process! I've learned so much already from reading other blogs, I thought I'd return the favor and hopefully help future home-builders by sharing our experiences, good and bad, with all of you. I hope this ends up somewhat entertaining and at least slightly helpful to a few of you. Cheers!

Concrete and Stone
Things are moving right along with the house...this week they finished up drywall and got most of the trim work done...doorframes, baseboards, molding, etc. They also put the stone up on the fireplace, and it looks awesome! The other main addition was the concrete was poured for the driveway and walkway. I don't have much more to add, so here are some pics!

Hi! I'm so jealous of your fireplace! It's gorgeous! I was wondering, what are your dimensions of your attic? We have a Venice and we're getting a finished attic ourselves... but we never actually saw it up close... just on paper! lol. Your attic is almost the same layout as the one we're having in Venice.
ReplyDeleteThanks! According to the pamphlet I have, the attic dimensions are 33'-3" x 12'-6". But that's for elevation A, and we are building elevation L. But it looks the same, so I would guess that those dimensions are still accurate.
DeleteOooh okay. I'm trying to get the gist of how our attic will look. Thanks!
DeleteHow did you ever get them to install an attic? Was it an option? Looks awesome. Im jealous, why didnt I think of that!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, it's an option now. I believe Ryan just started offering a finished attic late last year. You can get it open like we did, or you can have them put a door up there to make it into another bedroom. There's also an option to add a bathroom up there too.
